Chinese Fur Farms

July 31, 2010

I’ve never really had many strong feelings about the fur industry.  As far as traditional practices go, it only makes sense that those living in the north would need to keep warm with fur. This video influenced my recently changed opinion. Peta claims that 50% of the fur that arrives in the US originates in China (even if the garment is manufactured in a more developed country). I couldn’t find a source, so I don’t know what to think of that statistic, but regardless, I think this video speaks for itself.  [Disclaimer: this video is extremely grotesque and caused me to become nauseous].
